Exhibition for Moral Education and Nature Care Awareness | Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana | 22-23 Sep, 2016
Atam Pargas Team organised an exhibition at PAU, Kisan Mela on Septemebr 22-23, 2016. It was really an interesting experience. The volunteers interacted with hundreds of farmers. The farmers and visitors were educated to save water, reduce consumption of chemicals in agriculture, plant and nourish more trees, avoid the use of polythene, install nests in their houses and feed birds to ensure their survival in ecosystem. The volunteers also provided Atam Pargas publications to the farmers to ensure inculcation of moral values in the up growing kids.
Dr. Varinderpal Singh, Sr. Soil Scientist, PAU, empowered Atam Pargas Team to interact with hundreds of farmers during PAU Kisan Mela and educated them to minimise the consumption of fertilizer nitrogen using PAU-leaf colour chart (PAU-LCC) in rice, basmati rice, maize and wheat crops.
It is to mention that reducing consumption of chemicals in food production is one of the mandates of the Atam Pargas and we are instrumental to achieve the target through our network in academic institution. We all shall give our best input to stop the entry of unwanted chemicals in food chain that may cause disastrous consequences.
